Rag Dolls!

Rag Doll Time!

Here are some Rag Dolls I made for my nieces.

My daughter helped to stuff these and pick out the fabrics from my scrap stash.
It was a great mother daughter project.

I purchased the pattern from Sew Much Ado. The pattern cost is $9. It's a great way to use up your quilting scraps! Here is the link-

As you can tell I've put my own spin on the doll by changing the hair and face.
My daughter is drooling over these! But they are getting shipped off to her cousins.

Love this one setting on top of my sewing machine.
These four dolls will be mailed off to some very special girls.

Doggy Dress Using McCall's Pattern M6387

Sewing for little girls can be so much fun! This pattern tested my skills in gathering.
 Another fear has been overcome.

Vintage Fabric Jumper!

My fear of pattern sewing in now gone! In just a few months time I've sewn 5 or 6 things using a pattern. This is something I hadn't done since high school. Notice the beautiful buttons and buttonholes!

Heart t-shirt and skirt.

I made this today in just a couple of hours. I thought I hated making clothes. I didn't use a pattern just cut, sewed, at tried it on her a few times along the way.  It worked!

Fancy Nancy shirt with ruffled pant.

I bought this fabric today to make a tote bag for my daughter.  Somehow it turned into a shirt.

Mother/ Daughter Aprons

The above two aprons were made for a dear friend, a real kindred spirit (just watched Anne of Green Gables for the 100th time). I used a pair of jeans, little girls jumper, and a bed skirt. All of which, came from the thrift store. I love taking something old and making it new again. I hope they enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them.

Pillow Case Aprons

I made this pillow case apron for my daughter. The pillow case was purchased for .79 cents at a thrift store. She loves to wear it while making cookies for dad.

Before and After- Antique School Desk Redo

Remember those old school desk we use to set in? The ones you could put your books in under the seat. Why is it we all have dreaded memories...
